Overview

Dyspepsia[Indigestion] is a digestive issue causing severe discomfort in the upper abdomen. It causes a feeling of vomiting, nausea, burping, bloating, etc. Indigestion is a major discomfort occurring due to overeating, medicine reaction, having pills in an empty stomach, etc.

The symptoms of indigestion are burning sensation in the upper abdomen, feeling of fullness or bloating intermittent burping, abdominal pain, nausea and Vomiting in certain cases, Hiatus Hernia, etc.

The main cause of functional dyspepsia is related to an individual’s unhealthy lifestyle and intake of undigestable food items. Over intake of food items, overconsumption of alcohol & beverages, acid reflux, and ulcers in stomach, etc are reasons.

The dyspepsia symptoms continue for 3-4 days and in some cases longer. Indigestion is common among people. It is a case of discomfort affecting our daily routines. It affects both men and women but is common in women.

To counter dyspepsia or indigestion, we can rely on certain foods, herbs that will naturally cure the discomfort. At the same time, some food items must be strictly avoided to prevent indigestion. These are black Pepper, fatty food, hot pepper, decaffeinated coffee/tea, citrus fruits/juices, caffeine, tomato products, chili powder, chocolate, cocoa, cola beverages, etc.

Indigestion is a common disorder associated with the digestive system and it can be a sign of an ulcer or gastroesophageal reflux disease. If it is happening only for a short period of time then it can be due to improper food intake. But persistent indigestion issues can be due to gastrointestinal disorder. It is advised to seek medical attention and get dyspepsia medicine in this case.
