Urinary frequency


It is the urinary problem where one feels to urinate frequently in a day or many times at night, Nocturia. Polyuria is the frequent urination accompanied by high urine output, which is different from Urinary frequency. The urine volume will be less in this case.

Urinary frequency can be caused by different factors or as a sign of kidney or urinary bladder problem. Medical conditions like prostate gland problems, diabetes insipidus, diabetes mellitus, pregnancy, etc. Anxiety can also cause urinary frequency.

Avoid diets that are diuretic and that affect your bladder badly. Try bladder retaining where the intervals of urinating are increased. Kegel exercises and biofeedback are also helpful.

Urinary frequency is one of the symptoms of bladder cancer. It mostly affects men[usually aged ones] compared to women. Urothelial cells are found in the lining of the bladder. It is here the bladder cancer begins. But urinary tract infection[UTI] or cystitis is not the symptom of bladder cancer.

Drinking more water or diuretic fluids can initiate urinary frequency. It is normal to urinate about an average of 8 times a day. In normal cases, over-drinking is the cause of increased frequency of urination.

Urinary frequency can be treated by avoiding alcohol consumption and drinking before bed. To control urinary frequency in women, performing kegel exercises can bring result. Kegel exercise can strengthen the pelvic and bladder muscles.
