Overview

Vaginal dryness is the cause of decreased estrogen production in females at the time of menopause. It is the estrogen that makes the vagina lining lubricated and elastic. Although it is a minor irritation, it badly affects the sex life. There are some medications to get rid of this.

The symptoms of vaginal dryness are pain and itchy in the vaginal area, intense discomfort during intercourse, feeling of urinating. etc. In most cases, menopause and dryness are related as vaginal dryness is more during menopause.

The symptoms include soreness, burning, itching in the vagina, pain during intercourse, loss of interest in sex, persistent urinary tract infections, and mild bleeding after sexual intercourse.

Estrogen therapy is a remedy for low estrogen levels. A gynecologist can prescribe you pills or injections increasing hormones in the body.

Vaginal discharge is common in women and in normal cases it can be the reason of ovulation or sexual arousal. But in certain cases of infection vaginal discharge can occur that needs to be treated. Emotional stress, use of birth control pills and exercise can be some reasons.

The food good for vaginal health or wetness are almonds, sweet potatoes, cranberry juice, yogurt, avocados, flaxseeds, apples, pumpkin seeds, and hot chilies, etc.
